Tournament Format, Rules & Registration Policy

Tournament Format:

  • One-Day Tournament

  • 3 games guaranteed for every team/player

- Group play followed by:

  • Semifinals

  • Final

No 3rd place match

Divisions

  • U10 – 2v2

  • U12 – 2v2

  • U14 – 1v1

  • High School – 1v1

2. Game Format & Duration

2v2 Matches

  • Two players per team

  • Two 6-minute halves

  • Running clock

  • No goalkeepers

1v1 Matches

  • Individual competition

  • Two 5-minute halves

  • Running clock

  • No goalkeepers

Teams switch sides at halftime. No stoppage time.

3. Playing Area & Ball In/Out Rules

  • Walls are in play

  • No out-of-bounds on walls

  • Ball is considered out of play ONLY if:

    • It crosses the goal line, or

    • It hits the side netting on the walls

Restarts

  • All restarts are kick-ins (no throw-ins)

  • Opponent must give space on restarts

  • Game restarts immediately to maintain flow

4. Scoring Rules (IMPORTANT)

Goals scored directly off the wall DO NOT count

  • Example: Shot → wall → goal = NO GOAL

  • Goals must be scored directly without using the wall as a rebound

This rule is strictly enforced to maintain fairness in the limited space.

5. Fouls & Restarts

  • Slide tackles are ALLOWED

  • Dangerous or reckless challenges may result in:

    • Foul

    • Possession awarded to opponent

    • Possible disqualification if excessive

If a foul occurs or the ball goes out:

  • Possession is awarded to the opposing player/team

  • Play restarts from the back with a kick-in

6. Scoring, Standings & Tie-Breakers

Group Play

  • Win = 3 points

  • Draw = 1 point

  • Loss = 0 points

  • Ties in group play remain draws

Knockout Rounds (Semifinals & Final)

If tied at the end of regulation:

  • Golden Goal (Sudden Death)

  • First goal wins immediately 

7. Player Conduct & Discipline

  • Unsportsmanlike behavior will NOT be tolerated

  • This includes:

    • Excessive fouling

    • Taunting or abusive language

    • Disrespect toward referees, staff, players, or parents

Tournament officials may disqualify a player or team at any time.

All referee and staff decisions are final.

8. Safety & Equipment

  • Indoor shoes required (NO CLEATS)

  • Shin guards recommended (NO REQUIRED)

  • No jewelry

  • Players must bring water

  • Balls will be provided

Parents are asked to limit sideline crowding due to space constraints.

9. Registration Policy

What’s Included

  • Tournament entry

Jersey Discount

  • Players may receive 20% off a tournament jersey

  • Jersey must include both Khaos Academy and Soccer Post logos

Cancellation Policy

  • No refunds for withdrawals or no-shows

  • If the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances:

    • Full refund or Credit toward a future event

10. Final Notes

  • This is a limited-capacity event

  • Divisions close once full

  • Schedule details will be emailed prior to the event

  • By registering, participants agree to all rules listed above
